For the first time in the Committee's 30-year history, it awarded 10 scholarships of $1,000 to students for outstanding community service. The Realtors had previously awarded eight scholarships.
Scholarship recipients also demonstrated excellent academic strength, citizenship, defined goals, and a strong sense of self. The scholarship recipients are Andrew Young, Namrata Ramakrishna, Elizabeth Smyth, Hannah Katz, Eve Critelli, Nikhita Jaaswal, Jennifer Zheng, Tanusri Balla, Ameya Phansalkar and Madison Johnson.
The students established themselves academically and will attend Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Duke University, Emory University, The University of Pennsylvania, University of California Los Angeles, University of Maryland, and Syracuse University.
The young scholars have contributed countless hours of service to their community and their schools, as well as demonstrated superb leadership skills. The affect they have had on their neighbors and peers are rewards that will endure.
Scholarship winners graduated Academy of Information Technology, Stamford High School, Westhill High School, and Trinity Catholic High School and plan to study Business, Industrial and Labor Relations, Molecular Biology, Global Health and Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Cultural Anthropology, Business and Bioengineer, Urban Dynamics and Elementary and Special Education
