Summary

When It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia debuted in 2005, it set a new standard as a low/no-budget single-camera sitcom with no laughtrack, created by relative unknowns who slowly grew it into a record-breaking 15 seasons and counting. Creator Rob McElhenney plays Mac, who runs a bar with sociopathic frienemies Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day), Dennis Reynolds (Glenn Howerton), and Dennis' sister, Dee (Kaitlin Olson). Toxic, cruelly narcissistic, frequently intoxicated, and criminally irresponsible, the group follow their noses into episodic shenanigans that often leave them punished and ashamed, but never with a single lesson learned. Their debauched antics are further heightened with the addition of Danny Devito in season 2 as Dennis and Dee's father Frank Reynolds, forming the central five who have carried the show from its early days to its ongoing run, leaving it as the longest running live-action American sitcom.
