Sonny...is the end coming - General Hospital

Depending on how this story plays out I worry that the end of Sonny is coming. It wouldn’t surprise me because Maurice has hinted that he is ready to retire.

Sonny is very alone lately. His friends like Anna and Laura have seemed to have walked away from him.

He doesn’t trust Michael, Carly, and Jason, the people he has counted on the most.

He is getting divorced and hanging out with the woman who has a hand in his son’s death.

His other Son is unconscious.

I have a feeling that Christina is going to be asked to keep her distance from Sonny until the baby is born.

Dex is willing apparently to take down Sonny and the rest of his family (because they all have a hand in helping Sonny)

Sonny’s life is very unsettled and he is pretty isolated right now. It just feels like something big is going to happen.

Maybe a godfather like ending where he dies alone.

Jason is being forced to do all of this and I think the person who is forcing him is also the person he is protecting. I think it’s Morgan. I think Morgan is Pikeman. Jason is being forced by Morgan to kill Sonny and Jason is trying to protect Sonny while protecting Morgan from killing his own father.

A tragic death for Sonny would be to be alone, come face to face with Morgan and find out that that he was behind everything just before he dies at the hands of his son.

I know Sonny is a controversial character but he has a lot of layers that makes him interesting to watch. It will be sad if & when he is finally gone.

I think you might be right about Sonny, but I hope they don’t bring back Morgan. I never liked the character. I have always liked MB, but I don’t like the mob stories the way GH makes Sonny, Jason & Dex heroes. Not everyone they have killed was a lowlife like them. Curtis may not be perfect but he didn’t deserve what happened to him. There have been other innocent bystanders that got hurt because of Sonny. If he wants to stay, TIIC should find a way to get him & Jason out of the mob for good.

I don’t feel that way. MB has too much power, and will see Sonny out his way. I thought MB said, during the pandemic hiatus, that he was really bored and will continue acting indefinitely.

I would prefer it to be the end of the mob stuff, not the end of Sonny. I like Sonny when he’s not acting all mob boss and ordering people to be killed. If Anna and Jagger could find a way to have Sonny turn on all the mob people and then somehow protect him (or have Jason protect him now that he’s working for the government) they could ease him out of the mob stuff and he could become a legit coffee importer and restaurant owner. If they want to stick with all mob all the time, then I’d be okay with Mo leaving the show.

Yes I had seen that, but mobster or not, so many fans like him.
I hope that when the actor wants to leave, they write him out that he is just done with the life he had, the not really legal side, and he just decides to retire to his island.
Family would still be important to him and they can see him whenever they want

Before NF I would have been furious with people turning on Sonny , now it’s like oh well -

ICAM No actor should have that much power. It’s not fair to the other actors. I absolutely hate that he has to be in almost every stories and is in way too much . I think the character of Sonny is the most propped character on the show. I’m actually looking to MB’s retirement.

He wasn’t just bored, unfortunately. He was suicidal…very very ill.

If it was that bad then he really should retire instead of making fans miserable. He already has a show where he can work out his mental issues and it’s not GH.

I don’t believe the majority of the fans are miserable. I feel about Carly how you do about Sonny, but I never believed all of her screen time was her pushing her weight around either as was rumored or that Wes was only hired because of her, etc.

This fan is ecstatic. I love this Sonny…he was on his way & now that he is sans Nina (& Carly)…he’s more interesting than ever.

I’m happy you are enjoying it, but I still feel like Sonny is the most overrated character on the show. He keeps getting away with horrendous crimes sole because his fans will over look anything he does and god help the characters who try to hold him accountable.

For me, I have always felt the same about him & Jason. Currently, IMO, the Sonny character is being called out right & left & that is what has made him more interesting.

We will see if they treat Jason the same or if his criminalities are minimized while lauding him as a hero.

I do like that Sonny’s enablers are having their eyes open to who Sonny really is. There was a time when I was a fan but I think I just outgrew him over the years.

I hear you. I hated that he was treated like PC’s most upstanding citizen. I have always preferred OG OG Sonny. The criminal who doesn’t solve crimes for the PCPD but is WANTED by the PCPD.

Sonny is the most propped character. That is why I could not take watching the show anymore. I am certain I am not alone that people who have been turned off over the years will be tuning in again once he is off the show for good. I don’t buy the arguments that people make saying the show can’t survive without him. They said the same thing about Luke/Tony Geary when he left for good. The show is still going.
